Some observations compiled during the second half of the Terrapin men’s basketball team’s 81-52 win against Bucknell…
-Some better ball movement for the Terps early in the half. It’s always exciting when you can get Dave Neal some open looks.
-It’s interesting how the crowd reacts every time Neal competently performs the simplest of tasks. When he grabs a rebound, throws a pass, or makes a layup, you always hear people cheering his name as if they’re surprised he didn’t just fall to the floor and roll up in the fetal position.
-Cliff Tucker and Adrian Bowie have looked like the best players on the floor. They are slashing to the basket and playing with intensity on both ends of the floor. Bowie can elevate too, as he threw down an emphatic dunk on a breakaway with a few minutes left.
-Sean Mosley hasn’t been as impressive. He looks a little nervous in his first game, and most of his shots are long. He hustles though.
-This team doesn’t really seem to have an identity. What is something the Terps really do well? What is the facet of their game that is going to carry them through this season?
-Bucknell is not going to have a good season. The Terps haven’t played great by any stretch, but the Bisons look really inept. This team was a 9-seed in the NCAA tournament a few years ago.
-Kind of an ugly game, and not all that entertaining. But I suppose a 29-point win is nothing to sneeze at.
-The Terps are 1-0.
